I-25 Bridges over Santa Fe & North Bound Flyover

The I-25 Santa Fe interchange is one of the busiest urban corridors in downtown Denver. The project consists of a 2,000 foot long, 11 span flyover bridge using curved, spliced, precast post-tensioned concrete U-Girders. Additionally, Hamon designed and constructed both NB and SB I-25 bridges over US 85, and a temporary bridge to carry SB I-25 during the multiple phases of construction. Aggressive scheduling cut the original schedule from 1,209 days to 730 days, minimizing the impact to the over 210,000 vehicle trips per day on this congested interchange. Asphalt and concrete were recycled and re-used on the job, as well as over 100,000 gallons of the 1 million gallons of contaminated construction dewatering that was treated and disposed on the project.
