Speer Blvd and I-25 Bridge Rehabilitation

Project Overview

From June 2015 through November 2015, The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Hamon Infrastructure worked on a $3 million bridge repair project on the two Speer Boulevard bridges and 23rd Avenue bridge over I-25. This project expanded the bridge lifespan and provided better clearance under the arch bridge girders on southbound I-25.

Background

Traffic impacts included mainly nighttime work on I-25, Speer Boulevard and 23rd Avenue, with occasional weekend lane closures on Speer Boulevard and 23rd Avenue.

Project Benefits

Bridge rehabilitation included joint elimination, waterproofing, frame leg encapsulation, door replacements, epoxy injections, minor widening of southbound I-25 with milling, resurfacing, restriping of these lanes, vertical clearance signage, and striping on the girders.
